Meet your trainer

Hello! I’m Alexis Helmrath, certified personal trainer and owner of Fierce Mama Fitness.

I have a passion for the pelvic floor (yes, really!) and helping moms build strength and confidence from the inside out. What does that mean? It means I teach moms how to exercise in a smart, strategic way that integrates the pelvic floor so you don’t have to worry about leaking.

I have two energetic, funny, lovable little girls of my own, ages 3 and 5, whom I only occasionally think about selling on Etsy. Going through my most recent pregnancy and early postpartum period as an active mom clearly showed me just how little information and education moms are given regarding the risks and rewards of different kinds of exercise.

The one thing I hear again and again from the moms I work with is, “Why didn’t I know about any of this before?” My mission is to teach moms the things that I wish I’d known during and after pregnancy. Because leaking sucks, and it’s not normal. Neither is pelvic organ prolapse, or diastasis recti.

I have three cats, a deep and abiding love for funfetti cake and early 2000s pop music, and a crafty streak that compels me to knit hats as soon as the temperature drops below 60 degrees.

Oh, and I’m from New Hampshire.
